About The Position

The Field Training Officer will train, orient and brief Public Safety Officers in security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Health Center regulations. Provide a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities within the Health Center by being noticeably present. Trains, orients and briefs Public Safety Officer and Patient Services Ambassadors in the Health Center’s security policies and procedures, MOAB, First Aid and all other trainings required by the department. Coordinates and ensures timely completion of online training courses and performs/maintains the Public Safety portion of new-hire orientation. Monitors security surveillance equipment. Answers incoming telephone calls and takes appropriate action regarding such calls. Dispatches Public Safety Officers, Patient Services Ambassadors and Maintenance via two-way radio equipment. Conducts security inspections bi-annually and submits written reports to supervisor. Responds within 3-5 minutes to emergent and non-emergent situations as reported by the staff. Required to be on-call to respond to alarms within thirty minutes. When alerted by the alarm company after hours, responds immediately by going to the Health Center to check and re-secure the building. Co-Chairs the Security Committee. Performs tasks and duties as requested by the Director of Public Safety. Responsible for informing the Director of Public Safety of such tasks and duties and assists in the maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Law Enforcement or three years security experience.
  • Healthcare Security and Safety Certification.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to details.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Department of Public Health and Joint Commission regulations.
