This role is for a skilled Mobile Trainer who enjoys working with professionals in a fast-paced environment and possesses deep field experience in the electrical utility industry. The trainer will deliver high-quality, hands-on instruction across multiple locations in the Pacific Northwest, combining field expertise, safety leadership, and instructional skills to develop the workforce to the highest standards. This role requires 60%-80% travel throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of Journeyman Lineman experience.
  • Union experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both in-person and virtual.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout WA, OR, ID, and MT.
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update training materials and e-learning modules tailored to electrical and gas utility operations.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and relevance.
  • Customize training content to meet regulatory standards (OSHA, NESC, PHMSA).
  • Conduct classroom, virtual, and field-based training sessions for both new hires and experienced personnel.
  • Facilitate hands-on training for a variety of electrical and gas operations, including equipment operation, safety procedures, and emergency response.
  • Apply adult learning principles to engage diverse learner groups.
  • Ensure all training aligns with federal, state, and industry-specific safety regulations.
  • Maintain training records and certifications for audit readiness; upload records to the LMS in a timely manner.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, testing, and on-the-job performance.
  • Analyze training data to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Work closely with the Director of Training and Training Coordinator to schedule and deliver training sessions efficiently.
  • Support workforce development initiatives.
  • Participate in incident investigations to identify training-related root causes.
