Research and development (R&D) is crucial for innovation. Successfully transitioning R&D products from the lab to field exercises is vital for validating their real-world applicability and performance. This process ensures that groundbreaking technologies are practically viable, paving the way for their deployment. As a Field Exercise Test Engineer, you will support a small team in planning and executing field tests and mission exercises to evaluate Electronic Warfare (EW) and cyber R&D products. This role involves supporting lab and field tests of EW and cyber software and hardware systems. Tasks include developing field or lab test plans, procedures, and reports; reviewing software and hardware to understand functionality; communicating with clients and operational staff to capture requirements or communicate test objectives; and designing and constructing test environments to model real-world conditions and operational challenges. During an exercise, responsibilities include field or exercise logistics, site surveys, site preparation, equipment setup, participant coordination, test procedure execution, and capturing test artifacts. You will have a daily focus on software and hardware tests, developing technical reports, and event preparation. This position is located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
