About The Position

The Field Technology Specialist (Construction) for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within US Head Office is responsible for resolving user-reported problems, setting up and turning down district jobsite technology, delivering technical training, administering and monitoring server resources and technology solutions, logging problems and resolutions, and providing implementation support for corporate and regional initiatives. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on proactive solutions.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
  • Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and networking standards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. as part of regular job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer technology or a related discipline preferred.
  • Two years experience including Co-op/internship or relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves user-reported problems using available tools and following procedures and policies for handling support cases.
  • District jobsite setup and turndown, including remote support.
  • Delivers technical training and other knowledge resources.
  • Administers and monitors district office and construction site server resources and technology solutions to ensure optimal operation, and responds to issues.
  • Accurate and timely logging of problems, and resolutions to problems, in problem-management database.
  • Provides implementation support on corporate and regional initiatives.
