About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Field Technician to join their Building & Construction team in Jefferson, Louisiana. This role offers a career in Construction Services within Intertek's Building and Construction division, which provides assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services for architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines. The Field Technician will perform testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under supervision, with a willingness to travel to various project sites. Intertek aims to bring quality, safety, and sustainability to life through its Total Quality Assurance approach.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
Excellent communication skills and handwriting
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
Experience with hand tools and power tools
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights
Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of testing, project specific observations, and site assessment duties under supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
