About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Shreveport, Louisiana. This role offers a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, with services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Field Technician will perform various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required.
REAL ID driver's license or state ID required.
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally and be able to walk/stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights.
Ability to work over night hours and off shift.
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Construction Materials Testing experience is preferred.
ACI certification or other construction-related certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., Soil, concrete, or other).
Provide assessment of data through reporting.
Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities.
Give limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
