Aksela’s Field Technicians is responsible for repairing machines to customers’ satisfaction in the field or customer location.

Requirements

  • Ability to conduct machine performance and diagnostic tests.
  • Ability to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair customer equipment.
  • Proficiency in referencing and interpreting service manuals, diagnostic software, and parts catalogs.
  • Ability to verify warranty coverage and manage component returns.
  • Experience with failure analysis across various machine systems (engines, electrical, hydraulics, transmissions, power trains, brakes, steering, electronic/computer applications).
  • Skill in utilizing troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to adhere to Time Requirement Guidelines (TRG).
  • Willingness to work in the field, shop, or at customer sites, including overtime and overnight assignments.
  • Professional conduct and composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to comply with customer site requirements.
  • Skill in ordering necessary parts, evaluating part reusability, and identifying causes of failure.
  • Proficiency in completing service reports, time entries, and other documentation on a laptop.
  • Adherence to customer care standards.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, including contamination control and HAZMAT regulations.
  • Ability to properly use equipment and materials.
  • Attendance at required safety meetings.
  • Ability to maintain tools per MSHA and OSHA standards.
  • Skill in reviewing diagnostic data to create quotes and parts orders.
  • Ability to coordinate quote creation with Service Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts machine performance and diagnostic tests, interprets results, and independently determines the extent of necessary repairs.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, troubleshoots, services, and repairs customer equipment in field environments.
  • References and interprets service manuals, diagnostic software, and parts catalogs to identify malfunctions and verify repair specifications and required parts.
  • Verifies warranty coverage for applicable parts and manages the return of core and remanufactured components.
  • Performs failure analysis across all systems including engines, electrical, hydraulics, transmissions, power trains, brakes, steering, and electronic/computer applications.
  • Utilizes troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair machine and attachment issues, adhering to Time Requirement Guidelines (TRG). Escalates unresolved problems to Service Manager for further support.
  • Works in the field, shop, or at customer sites, which may include overtime and overnight assignments.
  • Conducts business professionally, maintaining composure and integrity in high-pressure situations and presenting a professional image.
  • Complies with all customer site requirements.
  • Orders necessary parts for repairs, evaluates part reusability, and identifies causes of failure.
  • Completes service reports, time entries, and other documentation on a laptop, submitting them daily via email.
  • Adheres to all customer care standards.
  • Follows all Aksela and customer-specific safety protocols, including contamination control and HAZMAT regulations. Properly uses equipment and materials, attends required safety meetings and maintains tools per MSHA and OSHA standards.
  • Reviews diagnostic data to create accurate, cost-effective quotes and parts orders. Coordinates quote creation with Service Manager.
