Field Technician - ACI Concrete Strength and Field Testing Certified
About The Position
This position involves performing concrete testing such as slump, air content, and temperature testing, as well as casting cylinders. The role also includes preparing soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt in both laboratory and field settings. The Field Technician is responsible for adhering to the QA Manual and other applicable procedures. Excellent communication skills are essential for maintaining positive relationships with clients, customers, and coworkers. The position requires a working knowledge of Word and Excel. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with scheduling, processing shipments, providing field site assistance, securing and transporting testing samples, observing and assisting with inspection of field activities, and supporting field team logistics by picking up and transporting equipment and samples, which may involve lifting up to 50 pounds. Domestic travel may be required up to 50% of the time.
Requirements
- ACI Concrete Strength and Field Testing Certified
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Ability to lift/carry specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Perform concrete testing: slump, air content, and temperature testing; and cast cylinders
- Perform preparation of soil, aggregate, concrete and asphalt in the lab and field
- Responsible for performing activities in accordance with the QA Manual and other procedures applicable to the position
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner to maintain good relationships with clients, customers, and coworkers
- Assist with scheduling and processing received shipments and deliveries through FedEx, UPS, and USPS deliveries
- Provide field site assistance including securing and transporting testing samples, observation of field activities, and assisting with inspection of field activities as defined in the project scope of work
- Assist with field team logistics including pickup/transport of equipment, samples, etc. involving lifting items up to 50 pounds
- Use small tools and light duty equipment to support testing in laboratory
- Operate small concrete saw
- Lift/carry specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
