Within the field services department, the Field Technician's primary responsibility is the installation and commissioning of OPTEL systems at client sites. This role is also crucial for maintenance, training, and technical support to ensure high customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Requirements

  • College diploma in electronics, computer science, electromechanics, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge in computer science and electronics
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong client orientation and solid teamwork skills
  • Resourcefulness, adaptability, versatility, and flexibility
  • Availability to travel approximately three weeks per month
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • High curiosity and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence

Responsibilities

  • Install OPTEL systems at client sites in accordance with established standards
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical installation while ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Collaborate with the technical support and factory design team to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Train end-users on the proper use of OPTEL systems
  • Prepare complete and accurate installation reports
  • Support clients during system qualification
  • Perform maintenance and repair on installed systems, as requested by the customer service department
  • Conduct engineering visits when required
  • Produce detailed service reports
  • Identify potential sales opportunities (new contracts, complementary systems)
