Field Technician - Telecommunications
About The Position
TELCOM Systems LLC is a family-owned video, voice, and data provider serving multi-dwelling unit (MDU) communities and commercial properties across Virginia. As our portfolio expands, we're looking to grow our Field Technician team. This role will work closely with our customer service team to ensure seamless service delivery. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Technician to join our telecommunications team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and services. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in telecommunications or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in telecommunications or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with Dish Network technology is also preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites.
- Ability to learn new and existing systems, technologies, and distributions independently.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems and equipment, including routers, switches, and fiber optics.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to resolve network and service issues promptly.
- Conduct site surveys to evaluate equipment placement and installation requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and equipment used, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and ensure it is stocked with necessary tools and materials.
- Be available to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Work with upper management in any tasks that they assign
