About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Field Technician III to join their team. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment in the field. This position is hiring immediately, with pay dependent on experience and paid weekly. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime eligibility. A discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus is also offered.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of field experience as a diesel, heavy equipment, or construction equipment technician required.
Experience working independently in the field, with the ability to self-diagnose, troubleshoot, prioritize, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, Tier 4, and aftertreatment systems.
Experience servicing and repairing construction and heavy equipment, including earthmoving equipment, generators, rollers, and related rental equipment.
Must be self-motivated, self-sufficient, dependable, and comfortable managing your own workload while providing excellent service to customers.
Must provide your own professional tools, averaging $10,000+ in value.
Basic computer skills required for completing work orders, documenting repairs, ordering parts, and maintaining accurate service records.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with customers, branch teams, and other technicians.
Participate in an every other week on call rotation, Sunday through Sunday.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.

Nice To Haves

4+ years of field experience preferred.
Electrical, HVAC, and generator experience is a plus.
Stable work history and a commitment to building a long term career with Sunstate preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, prioritize, and complete repairs on diesel, heavy equipment, or construction equipment in the field with minimal supervision.
Service and repair construction and heavy equipment, including earthmoving equipment, generators, and rollers.
Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
Complete work orders, document repairs, order parts, and maintain accurate service records using basic computer skills.
Work professionally with customers, branch teams, and other technicians.
Participate in an every-other-week on-call rotation, Sunday through Sunday.
Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to safety and quality.
