Field Technician III
About The Position
Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Field Technician III. We are a company where safety and people are core values, and we take care of our employees. This role offers competitive pay, paid weekly, and a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime eligibility. The pay range starts at $30/hr+ depending on experience, with a discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of field experience as a diesel, heavy equipment, or construction equipment technician required.
- Experience working independently in the field, with the ability to self diagnose, troubleshoot, prioritize, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, Tier 4, and aftertreatment systems.
- Experience servicing and repairing construction and heavy equipment, including earthmoving equipment, generators, rollers, and related rental equipment.
- Must be self-motivated, self-sufficient, dependable, and comfortable managing your own workload while providing excellent service to customers.
- Basic computer skills required for completing work orders, documenting repairs, ordering parts, and maintaining accurate service records.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with customers, branch teams, and other technicians.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.
- Must provide your own professional tools, averaging $10,000+ in value.
Nice To Haves
- 4+ years of field experience preferred.
- Electrical, HVAC, and generator experience is a plus.
- Stable work history and a commitment to building a long term career with Sunstate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
- Self diagnose, troubleshoot, prioritize, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Service and repair construction and heavy equipment, including earthmoving equipment, generators, rollers, and related rental equipment.
- Complete work orders, document repairs, order parts, and maintain accurate service records using basic computer skills.
- Participate in an every other week on call rotation, Sunday through Sunday, with additional on call incentive pay provided for eligible assignments.
