Requirements

  • 2 + years of general construction experience preferred; some cable and fiber industry experience highly preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results-oriented
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred
  • Experience with Cable, Fiber, or wireless operators
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of safe site operations and willingness to correct deficiencies
  • Ability to lead crews when the foreman is gone – construction, RF, Optical experience
  • Update records, plans, and installation specifications to document accurate "as built" and billing documents
  • Ability to work on ladders, demonstrated manual dexterity
  • Must be adaptable to changing environments
  • Must be able to pick up 50 lbs. and be capable of working up to 12 hours
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel
  • Must be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demands

Nice To Haves

  • technical degree preferred
  • some cable and fiber industry experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing support in the construction, maintenance, project costing, permit identification, and project management of telecommunication wireline infrastructure (fiber, coax, copper).
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Read and understand a customer detail plan and jurisdictional requirements
  • Have a labor-intensive attitude
  • Provide superior customer service while ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner
  • Adhere to all company and industry standards/regulations (OSHA, etc.)
  • Prepare drawings of field sketches using CAD or other platforms
  • Read and interpret network drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunications, commercial, residential, and light industrial application.
  • Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to, during and after fieldwork
  • Review peer work product and be open to the same
  • Other duties as assigned
