About The Position

IAMGOLD is seeking a Field Technician (Geology) for a 12-month fixed-term contract at the Côté Gold Mine Site. This role reports to the Chief Geologist and involves fieldwork related to grade control, sampling, transportation, material tracking, reporting, and communication of progress. The position provides on-site support to the Geology team with field sampling, site surveys, and data recording.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• A college diploma in a geology or mining related field is considered an asset.
• A minimum of 3 months’ related work experience is an asset.
• Previous experience in mining (specifically open put mining) is considered an asset.
• Ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions, such as cold, snow, rain, heat, etc.
• Ability to operate a telehandler.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from Reverse circulation drills and Production drills for grade control program.
• Organize, dispatch and complete chain of custody dispatching samples to laboratories.
• Organize, receive and store returning samples from laboratories.
• Safe operation of flatbed field trucks/ telehandler following Cote Gold safety standards while operating around active mining areas.
• Assist Geology team with in-field ore block marks with field ore blocks markups.
• Keep track of inventory of supplies.
• Maintain, wash and clean light vehicles as required.
• Maintain, wash and clean survey, drill and blast and geology tools and equipment as required.
