About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to join their Professional Services Industries Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Memphis, TN. This role is an entry-level position offering a career path in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. The CMT Technician will perform various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under supervision and according to controlled procedures. Intertek's Building and Construction division is a leader in providing assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services for new developments, existing assets, and facilities. Intertek-PSI specifically offers construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, including materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Requirements

Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
Must be able to read and understand work plans
Must be able to work off shifts and overtime
Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record

Nice To Haves

H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred
Experience performing field and/or laboratory construction materials testing is preferred, but not required
ACI/ICC/TNDOT certifiations are preferred

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting.
Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
Makes detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results.
Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.
Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
Communicates effectively with client and project teams.
Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
