About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Field Technician in Rock Island, IL, to perform routine field tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. In this first-level trainee role, your work will be checked by others in process and upon completion, and you may be assigned to a construction project to support field measurements, documentation, and plan interpretation. Principal Responsibilities Perform basic field inspection, testing, and documentation Support on-site or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and hot mix asphalt Serve as a construction observer as assigned, making field measurements and documentation entries Read and interpret plans as needed to support field activities Attend training to achieve various certifications Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly Maintain equipment and vehicles Observe safety and security procedures while working in the field

Requirements

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
  • Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
  • Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
