Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • 1-year minimum experience required
  • Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Driver's License Upon Hire Required.
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I.
  • Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Construction practices and Materials testing Preferred.
  • Other national, regional, state, and local Materials related certifications within 120 Days Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field materials testing on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
  • Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives.
  • Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings, and follow operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results.
  • Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of test data.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Clean, calibrate, maintain, and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned.
