The Field Team Utility Security Officer is a mobile, armed security professional supporting multiple sites and operational needs. This role provides flexible field coverage, responds to security issues, and protects people, property, and company assets across a designated region. Success in this position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and sound judgment in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

Must be 21+ years old
Must pass Armed Security training and possess a valid pistol permit
Must have a valid, non-expired Driver’s License
Good motor vehicle record (MVR) required
Alabama Security Officer/Guard License (or ability to obtain and maintain)
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Basic computer skills; ability to use a tablet for reports
Ability to function well in fast-paced or stressful environments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
Walk at least ½ mile without stopping
Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-year armed security experience
Prior Military Preferred
Pistol Permit
State Issued Driver's License (Not Expired)

Nice To Haves

Quick decision-making during emergencies
Comfortable working in high-risk or high-stress situations
Alabama Security Regulatory Board License, preferred
Able to obtain any & all security certifications/licenses

Responsibilities

Provide field support at multiple sites as needed, including weekends
Maintain situational awareness and demonstrate curiosity about surrounding activity
Deliver excellent customer service to employees and visitors
Stay calm and make effective decisions during critical or high-stress situations
Conduct walking patrols to enhance safety and identify security concerns
Monitor access points and verify identification and credentials
Maintain accurate activity logs, reports, and incident documentation
Enforce site-specific post orders and security procedures
Perform routine tasks: lock/unlock doors, arm/disarm systems, monitor cameras
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents
Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance
Support compliance with SEI and client policies (smoking, loitering, parking, etc.)
