About The Position

Maguire Iron is hiring an experienced Field Tank Punch List Welder to support field work on water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The role involves organizing the jobsite, operating equipment, maintaining housekeeping, and assisting the foreman and crew with rigging, blast pots, and paint pumps. The employee must be trained in the proper use of safety equipment and be responsible for meeting safety, quality, and production standards and goals. The position is primarily field-based and involves work in unfavorable weather, including heat and cold. Duties include working at heights of up to 200 feet and may require lifting or moving items weighing up to 75 pounds. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to pass a company weld test.

Required vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain 100% tie-off when working on a water tower.
Assist in unloading equipment and rigging from the maintenance rig.
Operate and understand rigging procedures.
Plan work-order procedures and gather tools and materials according to provided instructions and specifications.
Document and inspect personal safety equipment daily.
Document and inspect rigging equipment daily.
Prepare, assemble, and tack-weld parts and surfaces.
Assist with daily and end-of-project jobsite cleanup.
Communicate with the foreman about tasks and the plan for the day.
Follow Maguire Iron’s PPE policy and safety programs.
Meet safety, quality, and production standards and goals.
