About The Position

Maguire Iron is hiring an experienced Field Tank Punch List Welder to support field crews working on water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The role involves organizing work and equipment, maintaining a clean jobsite, assisting the foreman and crew with rigging and equipment operation, and preparing and tacking weld parts and surfaces. The crew member is responsible for meeting safety, quality, and production standards and goals, and must use appropriate safety equipment for assigned tasks. Work is primarily in the field, often in unfavorable hot or cold weather, and includes working at heights of up to 200 feet.

• Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk at heights up to 200 feet.
• Occasionally able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently able to sit, squat, talk, and hear; constantly able to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

• High school graduate or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% tie-off when working on a water tower.
• Assist with unloading equipment and rigging from the maintenance rig.
• Operate equipment and follow rigging procedures.
• Plan work-order details and gather required tools and materials based on job instructions and specifications.
• Document and inspect personal safety equipment daily.
• Document and inspect rigging equipment daily.
• Prepare, assemble, and tack-weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Assist with daily jobsite cleanup and cleanup at the end of the project.
• Communicate with the foreman about assigned tasks and the plan for the day.
• Follow Maguire Iron’s PPE policy and safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
