About The Position

The Field/System Supervisor oversees natural gas gathering and transmission pipeline operations, optimizing throughput while ensuring safety for the public, employees, assets, and the environment. This role involves leadership in maintaining system integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A related university degree with seven-plus years of experience, or ten-plus years of previous field operations experience, or an equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of natural gas systems and pipeline operations.
  • Must be available 24/7 for on-call duties and emergency response.
  • Must be able to work a 60+ hour work week at times to ensure duties and responsibilities are met.
  • Proficiency in various computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
  • Must reside within sixty-five miles of the assigned area to ensure prompt response times.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
  • Natural Gas Compression and Driven Equipment experience and understanding.
  • Basic reading and mathematics as applied to equipment maintenance.
  • Accepted safety standards and methods of natural gas pipelines.
  • Pertinent Federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations affecting health and safety.
  • Ability to observe and take remedial action on equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, equipment logs and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and cost-effectively with vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring safe operations through public awareness programs, meetings with public officials, and participation in Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs).
  • Oversee and enforce safety protocols to protect the public, employees, and the environment.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, with timely filing of all necessary reports.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Understand customer needs and ensure the highest level of service is provided.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and customers, ensuring clear communication and prompt issue resolution.
  • Control operating and maintenance (O&M) costs by identifying non-value-added expenses.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports to make value-added decisions that align with budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain the integrity of assets by overseeing chemical and corrosion programs, equipment performance, maintenance activities, and right-of-way patrolling.
  • Monitor pipeline pressures and volumes to ensure safety, efficiency, and maximum profitability.
  • Develop and implement measures to achieve the company’s vision of being the best in the industry.
  • Collaborate with other divisions of the business to reach shared goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain measurement integrity to minimize Lost and Unaccounted-for Gas (LUFG) and ensure accurate measurement.
  • Implement best practices in measurement to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all internal, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain honest, respectful, and effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Complete all training as directed by management.
