Field Surveyor - North Carolina
About The Position
Boundary Zone, Inc. is recruiting for an experienced Survey Crew Chief with Residential Boundary and Construction Staking experience in the Raleigh area. This role requires a strong understanding of land surveying principles and practical experience in boundary resolution and construction staking. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate completion of field surveys, proper equipment utilization, client communication, and mentoring field assistants. The position also involves efficient travel to job locations and staying current with surveying practices. A satisfactory driving record, valid driver's license, and willingness to undergo a drug test and background check are required.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of progressive Land Surveying experience.
- Land Surveying: 3 years (Required)
- Boundary Resolution: 3 years (Required)
- AutoCAD: 3 years (Required)
- Knowledge of surveying procedures.
- Microsoft Office/Outlook Computer (data collection basics, basic CAD skills).
- Boundary terminology.
- Construction terminology.
- Map and plan interpretation.
- Expertise in data collection.
- Surveying calculations.
- Excellent supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Critical thinking.
- A willingness to learn on the job.
- Must be able to work independently and with teams.
- Familiarity with Trimble surveying equipment.
- Driver's License (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Interest in becoming a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)
- Have your own Surveying Gear and Total Station, a plus.
- Willingness to travel: 75% (Preferred)
Responsibilities
