About The Position

Andromeda is looking for a hands-on, self-sufficient Field Technician who thrives outside the office. This role involves spending most of your time onsite at client locations across North Chicago and Southern Wisconsin, solving problems, implementing solutions, and representing Andromeda. It is not a hybrid role; it requires travel to client sites to fix issues and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in an MSP or corporate IT environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server OS (2008–2019+)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Workstations (Windows 10/11)
Experience with networking (routing, switching, firewalls)
Hands-on experience with hardware installs and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Azure environments
Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
Comfortable working independently in client environments
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must be based in the North Chicago area
Ability to travel regularly to client sites throughout North Chicago and into Southern Wisconsin
Ability to work independently, manage time well, and take ownership of problems
Must be ready to start sometime in the next 90 days

Responsibilities

Traveling to client sites to resolve technical issues and complete project work
Installing, configuring, and supporting hardware and network equipment
Handling onsite troubleshooting for servers, workstations, and network infrastructure
Working directly with clients to resolve issues and provide guidance
Collaborating with the remote team when additional support or escalation is needed
