This Field Supervisor position will work closely with the District Service Manager managing the daily field operations of the group. The role will handle a small agreement base that they will be responsible for performing pm and repairs, additionally catching reactive service calls when required. Requirements

  • 50% of time will be spent on traditional technician duties, the remaining 50% on Field Supervisor duties.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work and tolerate confined spaces.
  • Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes.
  • Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, technical support and on the job training to service technicians.
  • Be available by phone for technical support after hours.
  • Assist with the training plan for each technician.
  • Perform weekly site safety inspections.
  • Field Supervisor to rotate through the technician group. (DSM to do 1/month)
  • Perform field quality inspections.
  • Perform annual truck inspections for technicians.
  • Perform annual ladder inspections.
  • Attend monthly safety committee meetings.
  • Lead safety effort among technicians.
  • Constantly stress the need for safe work practices and adherence to the “Aircond Golden Rules.”
  • Fill in for DSM when DSM is unavailable due to meetings or PTO.
  • 1st Line of contact from Dispatch in assigning calls that come in if the primary tech is unavailable or if the call is non-contract.
  • Provide input to DSM for annual technician reviews.
  • Participate in the annual technician reviews.
  • Assist BDM with sales meetings and surveys on smaller unitary sites. (DSM involved with any Applied jobs or Full Maintenance contracts)
  • DSM will always approve BDM contract proposals.
  • Work with other Field Supervisors and the DSM to share resources among groups as needed.
  • Work with the DSM to help prepare large quotes.
  • Ensure each technician has a balanced workload (i.e., good balance between contract hours and available time for billable work).
  • Discuss technicians schedule and promote safety on Monday morning weekly meeting.
  • Provide input on technical issues for DSM training during safety meetings.
  • Help interview and hire new technicians.
  • Other duties as required.
