About The Position
The Field Services Technician supports safe, timely field service work for service connects, disconnects, reconnects, and collections activities. This role involves coordinating and scheduling daily field activities, providing responsive member service while following Cooperative procedures, and performing various service tasks related to electrical connections and equipment. The technician will also address metering issues, perform minor service work on equipment, and complete inspections of new solar installations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic electrical concepts; mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills; able to read maps; strong communication and record keeping
- Work outdoors in all weather; handle loose/aggressive dogs; available for overtime
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule daily field activities
- Provide responsive member service while following Cooperative procedures
- Connect, disconnect, or transfer electric service; verify meter readings per service orders
- Address metering tampering/energy diversion appropriately
- Perform minor service work on equipment rated 240 volts or below (meter base parts, disconnect collars, surge suppressors, voltage recording equipment)
- Complete inspections of new solar installations before commissioning
