About The Position

Metergy is seeking a Field Service Technician Intern to provide support to our experienced technicians in NY. This entry-level position includes comprehensive training to ensure success. This is a great role to learn and grow in a hands on work environment. You will work with our trained Field Service Technicians and shadow/assist them in their work. Opportunities to go Full Time as we are growing! Training provided! No experience needed.

Requirements

Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Exceptional organization and customer service skills.
Hands-on experience testing and repairing electrical devices or installations.
Ability to use a voltmeter and basic hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 45lbs occasionally
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Assist with Commission new installations of meters and metering systems.
Coordinate with the data center to verify remote reading capabilities of systems.
Diagnose installation errors and meter defects quickly and accurately.
Determine appropriate actions for improperly installed, damaged, or defective meters.
Provide detailed service reports in the reporting system.
Respond to emergency disconnect/reconnect requests and other service needs outside regular work hours.
From time to time, this position may require overtime hours including being on-call on weekends.
Maintain a professional demeanor when working with clients, contractors, maintenance staff, property managers, and tenants.
