About The Position

The Office of the Attorney General, Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), is seeking a Field Services Supervisor for its Central Region Program Support Section. The Field Services Supervisor leads, assists and monitors professional staff in the provision of child support services with a focus on providing support and guidance to contracting official offices in the Central Region Program Support Section. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional knowledge of child support casework, systems and processes, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail. The Field Services Supervisor and his/her staff will work collaboratively with contracting official staff as well as state staff, to promote best practices for performance, data reliability, and compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, and to assist in casework activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for, or administering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program, Disability Determination, Unemployment Insurance, Medical Assistance programs, Child Care Assistance Program, energy assistance, commodity, child support, or other public assistance programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child support processes, policy and procedure, federal and state statutes and regulations relating to the Title IV-D Child Support Program, and federal performance criteria.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate child support processes to both new and experienced support professionals.
  • Proficiency in the child support computer systems and applications, including but not limited to the Kentucky Automated Support and Enforcement System (KASES).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify deficiencies and propose sound and practical solutions.
  • Discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and train co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, supervises, evaluates and reviews staff and work or activities of the Central Region Program Support Section.
  • Serves as a point of contact for contracting officials in the Central Region Program Support Section.
  • Monitors section and program status through reports.
  • Consults with and provides recommendations to contracting official staff regarding federal compliance, performance, policy and training.
  • Assists in the interpretation of state and federal regulations and child support policy and provides expert knowledge, analysis and reconciliation of issues to assist state and contracting official staff with difficult or problem cases.
  • Coordinates and assists in training or supporting new and existing staff in contracting official offices.
  • Performs child support casework.
