About The Position

EPD is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Services Engineer to join our growing Field Services team. This role is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting electrical power distribution systems at customer locations throughout the United States and internationally. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, traveling to customer sites, and working directly with customers to ensure reliable operation of mission-critical electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience; internships and co-op experience welcomed.
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electrical commissioning, startup, or field service.
  • Familiarity with switchboards, motor control centers, generators, PLCs, VFDs, and protective relays.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety practices.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, renewable energy, utilities, or power generation.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical power distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving switchboards, motor control centers, generators, PLCs, VFDs, protective relays, breakers, and automation systems.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Serve as a professional representative of EPD at customer locations.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates with customers and project stakeholders.
  • Provide customer training and operational guidance as needed.
  • Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service and professionalism.
  • Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, customer site requirements, and EPD safety policies.
  • Utilize proper PPE and safe electrical work practices.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while promoting a culture of safety.
  • Complete service reports, commissioning documentation, startup records, and technical reports.
  • Document troubleshooting activities and recommended corrective actions.
  • Participate in technical training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams when not assigned to field service projects.
