About The Position

Con-Test is a Canadian leader in controlled environment testing and certification. Our experienced technicians test and certify cleanrooms, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, HEPA filtration, and other critical ventilation equipment for universities, hospitals, laboratories, compounding pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. We are searching for someone to join our team in Moncton, New Brunswick as our next Field Service Technician (Controlled Environments). In this role, you will play a critical part in keeping laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, and research environments safe and compliant through testing and certifying critical equipment. In this role, you will develop skills in advanced diagnostics and direct client engagement through structured, field based training. This role is ideal for someone who values variety, enjoys travel, and wants to build a technical career with purpose in regulated, high-impact environments. Travel within the region is required for this role.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools in previous roles.
  • Ability to conduct basic calculations and interpret measurements related to airflow, pressure, and filtration systems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug, cannabis and alcohol tests.
  • Must maintain a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year Driver’s Abstract and three years of insured driving history.

Nice To Haves

  • Past working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, or motor repair is beneficial.
  • Understanding of technical documentation, including manufacturer guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and industry standards including NSF/ANSI, ISO, NEBB etc. is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and certifying biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, clean benches, and cleanroom environments in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Perform diagnostics and minor repairs; escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, Regional Managers, and internal teams to ensure quality work and satisfied customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service when communicating findings to clients, explaining results, and offering guidance on equipment use and maintenance.
  • Commitment to continuous learning through hands-on training, technical development, and ongoing expansion of skills and certifications.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by maintaining a safe work environment for all team members, conducting hazard assessments, and documenting any incidents or near misses.
  • Travel to client sites across the region using safe driving practices.
