About The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. We are a veteran-friendly organization and strongly encourage military veterans to apply. You will work independently from your home base, providing expert support for advanced CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. This is a hands-on role where you will be the "go-to" technical expert for our customers.
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree (mechanical, electrical, or machine tool technology) or equivalent military technical experience or demonstrated experience in the maintenance field.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings/schematics.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools (gauges, test indicators, force meters).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Capable of working independently.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with PLCs is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and hydraulic/pneumatic issues on CNC machinery.
- Perform post-installation testing to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Conduct on-site training for customer operators on machine function, maintenance, and safety.
- Accurately log service activity, diagnostics, parts, and resolutions.
- Manage a regional travel schedule with regular overnight stays to support customer sites.
