The successful candidate will be self-motivated, be willing to travel, have good organizational skills and attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to follow work instructions, cooperate with co-workers; demonstrate an attitude of helpfulness, and possess mechanical aptitude along with time management skills. The Field Service Technician role involves building mechanical equipment, running pneumatic and compound lines according to supplied CAD drawings, and wiring machines per engineering specifications. This role regularly collaborates with engineering to resolve technical issues, travels for machine installations and service assignments, and proactively completes assigned tasks on the manufacturing floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical assembly.
  • 1-3 years of pneumatics.
  • 1-3 years of wiring / electrical
  • Willing to work over-time and possible weekends.
  • Possesses working knowledge and experience regarding electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems in related fields. Can analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Ability to travel is required. (Local, National, International).
  • Experience in preventative maintenance techniques, precision measuring, mechanical alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Exposure to programmable logic controllers, field devices, and electrical drive and motor systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build equipment to supplied CAD drawings.
  • Run pneumatics/compound lines to supplied CAD drawings.
  • Wire machines to supplied CAD drawings.
  • Learn new technology and skills to further their mechanical ability.
  • Confer with engineers to resolve wiring or assembly issues.
  • Travel for service and new machine installations.
  • Proactively accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Make recommendations to other functional departments to achieve quality improvement and to lower design and manufacturing costs.
  • Update the Operations Manager on the activities of your assignment.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as required.
