About The Position

The Field Service Technician role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and performing scheduled maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists. The Technician regularly works on-site at customer locations and is required to drive to different sites with some overnight and out-of-state travel. This position reports into the Crane Field Service Manager. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum age 21
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Must meet DOT driver requirements and maintain valid DOT medical certification
  • Willing to travel overnight in and out of state
  • Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
  • Able to work indoors/outdoors in extreme heat/cold and at heights for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience with similar equipment in manufacturing
  • Advanced electrical/troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of NEC, CMAA, OSHA, and ASME
  • Journeyman or Master electrician license
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians or trainees

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections
  • Identify issues and recommend repair solutions
  • Communicate with customers and internal team on repairs and safety concerns
  • Complete work efficiently and keep customers informed
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports and checklists
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as required
