About The Position

Imperial Electric Elevator, A Nidec Company, is a custom manufacturer of special application AC and DC motor systems for the elevator/escalator industry. With more than 100 years of industry experience, Imperial Electric offers a complete line of products including hydraulic motors, permanent magnet door operator motors, AC and DC elevator motors, AC induction motors, generator sets, ACPM Gearless Traction Machines and Geared Traction Machines. The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to our clients and ensuring that our products are running efficiently. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of technology and company products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical, electrical or mechanical field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently
• Extensive travel (including international travel) and that doing machine assemblies in the field is also required
• Requires extensive (deep or broad) technical knowledge of specialty areas with cross-functional and working knowledge of industry practices/other areas, typically obtained through advanced education and strong experience
• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot our products on-site or in office
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person
• Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on our products
• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to identify and resolve customer issues
• Create and maintain technical documentation and service manuals
