About The Position

The Field Service Technician is a core team member of the Service Department responsible for completing repairs on the Stirling Ultracold product portfolio and delivering training to service providers and customers. This role involves heavy communication and collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Requirements

  • Must have very strong customer relations communication skills (Phone, email, and face-to-face contact)
  • In depth technical knowledge of Stirling’s product line(s)
  • Experience Microsoft 365 Apps
  • Demonstrate ability to diagnose and resolve problems on refrigeration type products.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and composure in difficult situations.
  • Must be able to interact with other team members while in cooperative working relationships.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, and lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HVAC, cryogenic or other refrigeration repair and/or technical support preferred.
  • Experience with escalation protocols for critical customer issues preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs field-based diagnostics/troubleshooting on Stirling Ultracold freezers.
  • Complete timely and thorough field repairs on all models of Stirling freezers.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with service support representatives.
  • Upon repair completion, provide job specifics to the UltraCARE workload Sharepoint site.
  • Manages repair depot equipment and inventory.
  • Record all business-related travel/supply expenses.
  • Collaborate/train Independent Service Providers.
  • Represent Stirling Ultracold professionally on service calls to customer sites.
  • Professional communication with customers and laboratory staff.
