About The Position

The role of Field Service Technician is to provide onsite, and remote, service and support to Maxcess customers while working collaboratively with all internal teams. This position involves daily communications with customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing, as well as providing onsite and remote support for service and support matters. The technician will initiate tests and troubleshooting to diagnose electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, and complete repairs, replacements, and installations of existing and new equipment. Additionally, the role requires maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring necessary parts are on-site for successful service visits, and providing hands-on training to customer, manufacturing, and sales employees. The technician will also perform onsite application reviews, assist with ROI calculations, complete detailed service reports, and provide sales recommendations for parts. Entering quotes and orders, managing service schedules, and collaborating with manufacturing and engineering to ensure coverage are also key responsibilities. The role also includes responsible waste management, promoting energy conservation, and maintaining safety compliance. The technician will actively support business objectives and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and efficient management of time and resources
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office, Epicor, SalesForce, & all travel platforms
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings understanding tolerancing and specifications
  • Good understanding of machining/shop mathematics
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools, micometer, calipers, digital protractors, scales, etc
  • Travel globally
  • Self-managed and capable of completing tasks in a timely manner
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED, Technical Diploma, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years experience in industrial, mechanical, electromechancial, converting or paper making required
  • Work in conditions typical of an industrial manufacturing environment – noise, dust, odors and temperature variation
  • Ability to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs of force frequently and 20 lbs of force constantly to move product.
  • Sit/stand/walk 8-16 hours a day
  • Strenuous position requiring continuous bending, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hand/finger dexterity, twisting, grasping, feeling, and occasional stooping, crouching, repetitive motion and eye to hand coordination.
  • Good corrected vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. Prescription safety glasses may be required.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 80% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Daily communications, both verbal and written, with customers, sales, engineering and manufacturing
  • Onsite and remote support for customers and all associated to service and support matters, to include internal and external associates
  • Initiate test and troubleshooting, onsite and remotely, to diagnosis electronic, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
  • Complete onsite repair, replacement and upgrade of existing equipment
  • Complete installation and test, onsite and remotely, of new electronic, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
  • Maintain tools and equipment required to provide hands on work at customer location
  • Ensure equipment, parts and tools are onsite at customer location to enable a successful service visit
  • Complete hands on training of customer, manufacturing and sales employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions
  • Perform onsite application reviews making application and product recommendation
  • Assist Sales and customer in ROI calulations for upgrades and new sales opportunities
  • Complete detailed written reports for all services provided onsite and remotely
  • Provide detailed sales recommendations for new, upgrade and replacement parts
  • Enter quotes and orders related to field service and support
  • Manage scheduling of all onsite and remote service
  • Work collabrotively with manufacturing and engineering to ensure service schedule coverage
  • Manage waste responsibly (utilize proper containers, participate in the recycling programs)
  • Promote energy conservation
  • Maintain safety compliance for all International, Federal, State and Site specific service requirements
  • Actively support and maintain business objectives and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.
