About The Position

HiFyve is hiring a Service Technician in the Heavy Equipment industry. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on heavy equipment. The technician will perform standard repairs on various systems, source and order parts, and conduct field repairs independently. Welding, brazing, and fabrication skills are also required. The position emphasizes customer satisfaction, adherence to safety procedures, and documentation of repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical school training preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical Certification
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems
  • Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities on heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Welding and general fabrication skills
  • Proficiency with electrical and hydraulic test equipment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain repairs to customers and supervisors
  • Solid understanding of equipment operation across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write, and hear throughout shift
  • Continuously lift/carry up to 10 lbs; frequently up to 20 lbs; occasionally 21–75 lbs
  • Continuously push/pull up to 50 lbs; frequently up to 75 lbs; occasionally 76–100 lbs
  • Ability to work in both shop and field environments, including extreme hot and cold outdoor conditions

  • Experience with Volvo construction equipment a plus
  • Experience with paving equipment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on heavy equipment
  • Perform standard repairs on drive-train, engine hydraulic, A/C, suspension, steering, braking, and material handling systems
  • Source and order parts as needed to complete repairs
  • Perform field repairs on mobile equipment independently, without direct supervision
  • Weld, braze, and fabricate/modify parts and structures as needed
  • Document repair complaints, causes, and corrections in writing
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Comply with all applicable DOT requirements and company safety procedures
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely, including overnight stays
