This role involves performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental, troubleshooting diesel engine, electrical systems, and pump problems, and rebuilding diesel engines and pump ends. The technician will also assist customers and Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on job sites, perform start-up duties, inspect and diagnose equipment damages, and test repaired equipment. Preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment, along with diagnostic checks using computer technology, are also key responsibilities. The position requires participation in a weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours and engagement in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities. Requirements

3-5 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Ability to obtain DOT Medical card
Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
Diagnosing basic mechanical problems
Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.
Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices
General DC electric and circuit testing skills
General diesel engine component location and identification
Safety practices and procedures
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver License B
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.
Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems.
Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.
Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed.
Assist in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.
Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.
Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment.
Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.
Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.
Perform related duties as assigned.
