About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing Andersen windows and patio doors in residential and light commercial settings. This role ensures a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering quality workmanship, professional communication, and timely service aligned with Andersen standards. This territory covers the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii. Travel is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in window/door installation, service, or general carpentry preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Andersen products or similar window/door systems is a plus
  • Ability to read service orders, technical documentation, and parts catalogs
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving and diagnostic ability
  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and service needs
  • Basic technology skills (mobile apps, service reporting systems)
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely

  • OSHA safety training
  • Lead-safe or EPA certification (where applicable)
  • Manufacturer or trade certifications in window/door installation or service

Responsibilities

  • Perform field service repairs on Andersen windows and patio doors, including but not limited to: Hardware replacement (balances, locks, operators, hinges), Glass replacement and sash repair, Weatherstripping and seal repairs, Frame and operational adjustments
  • Diagnose product issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
  • Review work orders and service documentation prior to appointments
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service scope, timelines, and outcomes
  • Ensure proper use of parts catalog and tools to identify and order correct components
  • Complete accurate service reports, including photos, notes, and parts usage
  • Maintain company vehicle inventory and ensure readiness for daily assignments
  • Follow safety standards and company policies at all times
  • Collaborate with internal teams (service coordinators, case managers, and leadership) to resolve escalations
  • Provide feedback on product performance and recurring issues
