About The Position

George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full-time Field Service Technician open to candidates in and surrounding the Evansville, IN area. The George E. Booth Co. is a major distributor of industrial process control instrumentation products and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee founded in 1963. The ideal candidate will have experience servicing industrial process control instrumentation, gas detection and valves. The candidate must be willing to travel, with occasional overnight stays and on-call duty.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel with occasional overnights (50%) and have a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 3 years' related experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Associate degree in technical field or equivalent work experience.

  • A level of comfort leading a classroom setting is preferred.
  • Skill to self-start and negotiate sales of products lines and additional services in the field is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to successfully provide start-up new units, troubleshoot, provide calibration, repair and maintain industrial process control instrumentation products and analytical devices, as well as gas detection and valves.
  • Actively diagnose root cause of equipment problems and develop permanent solutions for our customers.
  • Technical competency with industrial process controls systems and familiarity with a variety of applications is a must within Food & Beverage, Chemical, Water/Wastewater or a GMP environment.
  • Capacity to read and interpret technical documentation and interpret or prepare technical summaries in both written and oral communication.
  • Capable of understanding the applications and products in all facets of level, pressure, flow, temperature and analytical.
  • Talent to transmit technical information in an instructional manner to customers and teammates both formally and informally. A level of comfort leading a classroom setting is preferred.
  • Skill to self-start and negotiate sales of products lines and additional services in the field is desired.
  • Hand-to-eye coordination to actively work with hands, hand tools, calibration and general testing equipment.
  • Provide timely submission of mandatory reporting on field service reports, calibration certifications, timesheets, business expenses, etc.
  • Basic computer skillset is a must, willingness to learn new technical platforms is vital to success.
  • This position is active and can require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision and in a team environment.
  • Ability to carry loads up to 50lbs is required.
  • Conscious efforts to maintain a safe and clean working environment is mandatory.
  • All other duties assigned by Management.
