About The Position

SoftWave TRT is a fast-growing medical device company revolutionizing regenerative medicine with FDA-cleared shockwave therapy devices used by top healthcare providers nationwide. SoftWave is seeking a Service Technician to repair, refurbishment, and preventative maintenance of SoftWave shockwave therapy systems. This hands-on role requires mechanical and electrical proficiency to ensure all equipment meets operational, quality, safety, and regulatory standards before return to service. This is an on-site, full-time position based in Marietta, GA. Standard day shift Monday–Friday; occasional overtime may be required to meet service demand.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • Minimum experience: 1–3 years of experience in electronics, electromechanical, or medical device repair (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with precision components
  • Experience with hand soldering
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, work instructions, and sanitization procedures
  • Competent in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and quality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Class I or Class II medical devices
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements including ISO13485
  • Experience working in NetSuite
  • Hand soldering certification
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) credential or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assess incoming devices and applicators to determine the type and scope of service required
  • Perform cleaning of applicators and water cartridges upon receipt
  • Disassemble, inspect, refurbish, and reassemble shockwave therapy devices and applicators following work instructions, safety, and quality standards
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and component-level issues across devices and applicators
  • Replace worn or defective parts (e.g., pressure sensors, tubing, pumps and other electrical components)
  • Accurately document refurbishments, repairs, parts used, and test results in accordance with FDA (Quality System Regulation) and ISO 13485 requirements
  • Complete data entry into appropriate systems (e.g., Excel spreadsheets, service records)
  • Use hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and soldering iron safely and effectively
  • Ensure all tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
  • Perform final functional verification on each device before release to inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; support continuous improvement efforts; other duties as assigned
