About The Position

This role serves as an electronic technician in the Field Service Support function, responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of all equipment, instruments, and analytical systems within the emission inspection program. The technician will maintain a territory of approximately 100-200 customers, troubleshooting equipment, analyzing documents to determine causes of malfunctions, and performing maintenance and calibration of instruments. This includes preventative maintenance and calibrating major and gas instruments to specified tolerances. The position also involves completing necessary paperwork and reports, maintaining accurate inventory, training customers on equipment operation and maintenance, and performing preventive maintenance on a company vehicle. Significant travel is required.

Requirements

Ability to work outside normal operating hours, overtime, and in extreme hot and cold conditions.
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, stooping, bending, crawling, and crouching required.
Ability to use mechanical and electronic tools and equipment.
Ability to lift moderate to heavy items required.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be proficient with computers.
18 years of age or older.
High School Graduate.
One years experience in electronic/electro-mechanical maintenance and repair.
Familiarity with test equipment including oscilloscope, frequency counters, and digital multimeters.
Current driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

Serve as electronic technician in the Field Service Support function responsible for installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of all equipment, instruments, and analytical systems in the emission inspection program.
Maintain a territory consisting of about 100-200 customers.
Troubleshoot equipment and analyze appropriate documents to determine cause of equipment trouble and malfunctions in major test equipment and test procedures within designated territory.
Perform maintenance of instruments and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and calibration functions.
Calibrate major instruments/and or gas instruments to specified tolerances.
Complete necessary paperwork and reports on assigned work and assist in the completion of records, reports, and other test documents.
Responsible for the accuracy of inventory in his/her possession.
Provide training to customer base on the proper operation and maintenance of motor vehicle inspection equipment.
Responsible for preventive maintenance on company vehicle assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Significant travel required.
