About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team. This on-site position that is based out of our Winnipeg, MB location and requires local travel to customer sites. To set you up for success, we provide a company truck, phone, laptop and a competitive benefits package that includes pension, medical, dental, tuition reimbursement and paid holidays. The expected annual salary range for this role is $69000 - $87000 a year. You are also eligible for overtime compensation. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The individual will be responsible for servicing uninterruptible power supplies and batteries and other company electronic-based products in a high voltage environment at the customer’s site.

Requirements

  • College degree/diploma from an accredited institution in any of the following disciplines: Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Technology OR Red Seal (309A) Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification/Ticket
  • One (1) year of experience with UPS (uninterruptable power supplies) OR battery technologies OR electronics
  • Candidates must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Required to travel to US for product and safety training when necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of UPS rectifier or inverter
  • Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and schemes

Responsibilities

  • Performs emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility.
  • Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing and repair of company products.
  • Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
  • Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related problems.
