About The Position

Performs multiple tasks associated with field installation, service, maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of surface wellhead systems. This role involves field service, assembly, and repair of new, remanufactured, and customer property. The technician plans and coordinates activities for equipment installation, investigates and resolves customer technical problems, and works to prevent future operational difficulties according to job specifications. The position requires providing 24-hour on-call field service on a rotating schedule for existing and new customers. While primarily based in a home-based workshop, the role includes customer location visits, overtime, potential work for other company divisions, and extensive travel with extended stays at other Company locations. The technician works independently to install new products and conduct repairs of Vault Pressure Control equipment, ensuring no rig lost time for customers while managing expenses and maintaining assets. Duties may also include working in the shop during training or when not on service jobs.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years field service tech experience.
  • Demonstrated good working knowledge of mechanical processes.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year mechanical, electronic and hydraulic related experience.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrated good customer service skills – communication skills, positive interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated good organizational skills.

  • Technical, vocational, or military training or related experience.
  • Surface Wellhead installation and repair experience.

Responsibilities

  • Field Service, assembly, and repair of new, reman and customer property.
  • Plans and coordinates activities with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational service difficulties per job specification.
  • Provide field service on a 24-hour on-call basis for existing and new customers while on scheduled shift.
  • Work independently to install new products and conduct repairs of Vault Pressure Control equipment ensuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining assets.
  • Work in Shop when in training or not out of service jobs.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with Company Representative on issues including job procedures and spare parts requirements.
  • Record critical dimensions to ensure assembly will work and obtain and review product assembly/running procedures.
  • Responsibly for shipping correct equipment and tooling to location for service jobs.
  • Prepare and submit Field Service Orders and other region required reports after each job is complete.
  • Complete a Tally Book or other forms to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions and customer questions and complaints.
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with VPC EHS and quality processes and procedures.
  • Complete shift reports and logs.
  • Climb up and climb down a ladder from work locations.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Work 12 to 14-hour shifts, day and night on a rotating schedule and weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
