About The Position

GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Field Service Technician! The Field Service Technician is responsible for safely installing, commissioning, servicing, and operating sonar systems at local test facilities and offsite on customer vessels. The Field Service Technician works within a diverse multi-disciplinary program team and interface directly with various subcontractors and customer representatives. When not in the field the Technician may support the planning of field operation logistics, maintain equipment in our factory, and perform other related activities. Frequent international travel required. Requirements

  • Post-secondary certificate/ diploma in engineering or engineering technology.
  • Minimum 3 years field experience operating and/or commissioning electro[1]mechanical equipment.
  • Intermediate knowledge and skill set of computer systems, including experience using Microsoft products, internet, documentation governance, and research.
  • Hold a valid Canadian passport.
  • All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a marine setting, an asset.
  • Experience working overseas and familiarity with foreign cultures, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Safely install and maintain sonar systems on customer vessels in local & international ports.
  • Support the demonstration/commissioning, operation, and testing of sonar equipment at sea.
  • Gain expertise in the features, operation, and maintenance of GeoSpectrum sonar systems.
  • Train customer operation teams on GTI systems, considering language and culture barriers.
  • Test and troubleshoot electromechanical systems in the field.
  • Organize logistics for local and international field activities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, processes, and procedures for field service activities and field-based configuration control.
  • Develop and maintain tools and equipment to support field service activities.
  • When not in the field, provide remote technical customer support and support other Engineering teams with assigned projects.
  • Ensure all documentation, processes, procedures and production adhere to our Quality Management System.
