About The Position

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support our M.U.S.H. market customers—Municipalities, Universities, Schools, and Hospitals. In this high-impact role, you will deliver rapid-response troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for critical motor and pump systems that keep essential public facilities running smoothly. The Opportunity: When a hospital’s booster pump fails or a university boiler room motor goes down, you are the expert who restores vital operations. You will lead on-site rapid response, diagnostic, rigging, and mechanical repair operations for essential electromechanical infrastructure. Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on field experience servicing industrial/commercial motors, pumps, and mechanical plant equipment.
  • Proven knowledge across electrical controls, commercial HVAC, plumbing/pipefitting, and mechanical rigging techniques.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators).
  • Strong analytical skills with a mindset geared toward quick-turnaround troubleshooting in mission-critical environments.
  • Professional, customer-facing demeanor with a valid Driver’s License and acceptable record.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, work flexible hours, and perform local/regional travel for emergency service calls.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver fast, effective dispatch service to resolve critical motor and pump outages across municipal water systems, campus facilities, and healthcare institutions.
  • Troubleshoot, wire, and service single and 3-phase AC/DC motors, VFDs, and controls tied to commercial HVAC units, chillers, and air handlers.
  • Inspect, disconnect, overhaul, and re-install hydronic pumps, boiler feed pumps, sewage lift stations, and domestic water systems; perform pipefitting and mechanical seal replacements as needed.
  • Safely rig, hoist, and transport heavy pumps, motors, and mechanical assemblies in tight mechanical rooms, basements, and plant environments.
  • Perform laser alignments, insulation resistance testing (Megger®), multimeter checks, and precision measurements to ensure OEM-level reliability before bringing systems back online.
  • Adhere strictly to institutional safety standards (LOTO, confined space) while clearly communicating technical findings to facility directors and plant engineers.
