Requirements

  • Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience, including servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
  • Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers' specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
  • Possess initiative, critical thinking, complex problem-solving skills, good judgment and decision-making abilities, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others, and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to travel 60-70% during the week (Mon-Fri) after training.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods on an airplane or in a car to reach job destinations.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.
  • Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in maintenance, installation, service, and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
  • Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish skills are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment and provide routine maintenance/service to customers.
  • Apply troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical skills, along with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems, to install and maintain processing and packaging machinery.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and on-site equipment repair.
  • Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country, with potential travel beyond the territory as required. After training, travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri).
  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Engage with customers on-site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine necessary actions to restore equipment to performance specifications.
  • Share information with team members, customers, and supervisors to prioritize tasks and keep customers informed of corrective actions and equipment status.
  • Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Participate in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
