This is a unique opportunity to help build the future of CARR. The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our centrifuge equipment at customer sites. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our products, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in electro-mechanical technology (or similar), plus 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents (e.g.- engineering drawings, manuals, BOMs, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Ability to write clear service reports and business correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in performing installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ability to travel extensively to customer sites, sometimes on short notice, and work flexible hours as needed to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs individually; more via team lift)
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
  • A valid passport (or the ability to get one)

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Electronics Technician (CET) are a plus.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and commission new centrifuge equipment at customer sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to agreed-to specifications (standard or custom).
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on centrifuge equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This may include cleaning, calibration, and routine inspections.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and failures, utilizing engineering drawings, technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Install field upgrades and modifications to existing equipment as required, ensuring compatibility and adherence to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Provide training to customers on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of centrifuge equipment, empowering them to effectively utilize and take basic care of their equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, work orders, and parts usage. Provide detailed reports to leadership and customers as needed.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls and inquiries, providing remote support when possible and onsite assistance as needed to resolve technical issues.
  • Recommend replacement and/or spare parts for purchase by customers.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working in customer environments, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.

Benefits

  • The approximate pay range for this position is $85,000–$110,000 annually.
