About The Position

Pacific Mobile Structures is seeking a skilled repair person to undertake the upkeep and repair of mobile office units, both interior and exterior, within their Modesto territory. This is a field position that may require overnight stays. The role is crucial for maintaining the company's quality standards and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include electrical, HVAC, and plumbing troubleshooting and repair, as well as carpentry work. The goal is to drive service success, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and profitability. Success in this role requires strong practical skills, knowledge of various trades, organization, attention to detail, and self-motivation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years verifiable experience working as a Carpenter, Foreman, or construction related Field/Customer Service representative with limited to no supervision.
  • Clean driving abstract.
  • Strong understanding and interpretation of factory drawings.
  • Experience completing full unit refurbishments.
  • Excellent leadership and training skills.
  • Ability to add new exterior doors and windows, restoring units to original configurations.
  • Proficient in installing complete coffee bars, counters, and other custom modifications.
  • Understanding of electrical and plumbing schematics with the ability to perform standard testing, repair, and replacement.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical electric control systems.
  • Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment.
  • Working on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for extended periods.
  • Lifting 50 pounds and carrying a minimum of 25 pounds for up to 250 feet unassisted.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Working more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC issues.
  • Identifying and remediating all types of dry rot.
  • Completing full unit refurbishments, including custom modifications.
  • Overseeing and training Level 1 and Level 2 Service Technicians.
  • Installing new exterior doors, door hardware, and windows, restoring units to original configurations.
  • Installing and replacing plumbing fixtures and components, including waste and freshwater supply lines.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair basic electrical issues.
  • Exterior Walls (Siding & Trim, Complete Reside & Trim, Framing & Rot Remediation)
  • Subfloor Framing & Sheathing
  • Exterior Doors (Cut & Frame-In Stock & Custom Doors, Electrical Reroute)

  • Plumbing/Restroom Fixtures
  • Interior Wall Coverings - New and Replacement
  • Roofing - New Installation
  • Interior Ceiling (Complete Replacement)
  • HVAC Components - Remove & Replace
  • HVAC (Replace Entire Unit, Upgrade Power Supply Wire, Troubleshoot Electrical, Install New Thermostat, Install New Ducting, Relocate Vents)
  • Chassis (Remove & Replace, Install New on Modulars)
  • Ability to identify flaws in operational workflow and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain accurate materials inventory.
  • Ability to complete field services as needed.
  • Documented training experience for Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians.
