About The Position

This role involves interfacing with various departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of NOV products, including their safe operation, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting. The technician will travel to customer sites to perform inspections, installations, commissioning, testing, calibration, repairs, and customer training on NOV products. Responsibilities also include performing field upgrades of software and hardware, communicating field failures and feedback, and completing service documentation. The technician must comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities include installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing drilling equipment, providing training to other technicians, submitting accurate reports, and working in the repair shop when needed.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Microsoft Office knowledge is required.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings required.
• Minimum 1 years’ mechanical experience required.
• Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
• Valid Driver’s license required – as you will be operating a company vehicle.
• Must provide transportation from home to the office. Transportation to customer’s location will be provided.
• Must obtain NOV corporate credit card and maintain an active status per NOV credit card policy.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics required.
• Ability to utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope, and basic hand tools required.
• Ability to interact effectively with customer and contractor personnel.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
• Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
• Must be able to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
• Ability to meet or exceed standards as established by the department.
• Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
• Work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights in excess of 150 feet.

Responsibilities

• Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
• Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
• Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
• Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
• Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment.
• Provide training to other NOV Field Service Technicians.
• Provide accurate and timely reports to appropriate personnel regarding work progress and output.
• Work in repair shop when needed.
