About The Position

Vermeer Midwest is hiring a Field Service Technician to serve customers in the Sterling Heights, Michigan area. This is a hands-on, mobile role in which the technician works independently from a fully equipped service truck that can be taken home and is stocked with company-provided tooling. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday on the day shift, with overtime available, and pays $35–$45 per hour. The technician diagnoses and repairs heavy equipment, performs inspections and preventive maintenance, keeps accurate service records, and communicates with customers and internal teams. The role also includes managing the work schedule and maintaining the service truck’s upkeep, cleanliness, and organization. Requirements

At least 5 years of experience repairing heavy-duty vehicles or equipment.
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and acetylene and arc welding.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues on-site.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Valid chauffeur’s license and medical card.
Must pass a background check, drug screen, and MVR check.

Nice To Haves

CDL is preferred.
Background in agricultural equipment is a plus.
